Daniel Niebauer - Erie, PA (Visual)
Daniel Niebauer is an active adjudicator, educator and visual designer. He is presently a member of the New York Federation of Contest Judges, the Ontario Drum Corps & Color Guard Judges Association as well as the Ny-Penn Judging Association, where he currently acts as the M & M caption chief. Dan is a level three adjudicator for WGI & DCI as well as a visual judge for DCA, CSJA, NJA, Penn. Fed., and BOA. He has been a guest judge for state and regional championships in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, New York, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Florida and Indiana, and Europe. He has designed, coordinated, and directed over 300 marching bands, drum corps, and color guards during the past 38 years, earning over 350 first place trophies and championships. Formerly a band director and teacher at Fairview High School and McDowell High School, Dan serves as a faculty member for the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, specializing in jewelry and metallry design for both undergraduate and graduate students. Dan has given clinics all over the world for the visual captions specializing in drill design and most recently completed the 2006 DCI Tour and Championships judging 22 shows while writing the visual programs for 4 marching bands. Along with his wife, Janice, Dan owns and operates Ralph Miller Jewelers & Gallery, J & D Manufacturing Jewelers, Inc. and RMJ Restorations, Inc. They specialize in a custom designed line of fine gold and platinum jewelry called "Created Uniques," which can be found on the internet at www.created-uniques.com. Dan has exhibited nationally and internationally. Many of his pieces are held in private collections throughout the world.
Mike Loeffelholz – Lexington, KY (Visual)
Mike Loeffelholz is the director of Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps in Lexington, Kentucky. He has served in that capacity since the fall of 2002, and has also been program coordinator, visual designer, and visual caption head at various times for the corps. Mr. Loeffelholz has been involved in the marching arts for almost 30 years, including 25 with the Madison Scouts organization. Mr. Loeffelholz started as a performing member of the Madison Jr. Scouts and Madison Scouts, then went on to serve as visual instructor, visual caption head, and visual designer for the Scouts. He has been a visual designer for over 15 years, serving various drum corps, marching bands, and winter guards. Mr. Loeffelholz wishes to congratulate all of the students involved in today’s performances and wishes them continued success in their future performance opportunities.
Shawn Parrish – Carlisle, KY (Visual)
Shawn Parrish is Band Director Emeritus form Bryan Station High School. During his tenure the Band earned several Grand Champion Marching Awards, and many Distinguished Ratings at KMEA Concert Festival. Shawn earned Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance Degrees from the University of Kentucky, where he was awarded a full music scholarship and The Mildred Lewis Scholarship for Music Education. He has earned his Rank 1 in Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently Principal of Nicholas Co. Middle and Elementary School. Shawn has written for drill for many high school bands. Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife Beverly and daughter Laura.
Chris Forbes – Madison, WI (Music)
Chris Forbes has been active in music education since the 1970s. He is a former Drum Corps International and Drum Corps Midwest judge. Chris was the featured soprano bugle soloist with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps from 1973-77. For many years, his photograph was in the World Book Encyclopedia under the listing of “bugle”. Chris has arranged and composed for many of the finest bands and drum corps including the Madison Scouts, Capital Sound and the Americanos. Chris maintains an active performance schedule as a freelance trumpeter. He is currently a band director with the Waunakee (WI) Public Schools.
Steve Vento – Tulsa, OK (Music)
Steve Vento is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where he was director of bands for 12 years. The Pride of Broken Arrow marching band was a 7 time state champion, 3 time BOA regional champion, 5 time BOA class champion, 6 time BOA national semi-finalist, and 4 time BOA national finalist. He is currently the director of bands at Tulsa Community College where he teaches various music classes. Steve has also worked with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps since 2003 in various captions; Program coordinator, brass arranger, brass caption head, and on the design team. Steve also worked with Nite Express Drum and Bugle Corps from Cedar Rapids, IA; Black Gold Drum and Bugle Corps from Tulsa, OK; Marched with Skyryders Drum and Bugle Corps from Hutchinson, KS and The Blue Devils from Concord, CA. Steve is an active arranger, clinician, and consultant around the nation. He received his undergraduate degree at Missouri Western State University in 1992 and his Masters degree in 1999 at the University of Tulsa.
Tim Snyder – Pewee Valley, KY (Music)
Tim is the director of the jazz program and assistant director at Shelby County High School in Shelbyville, Kentucky. As a performer Tim has performed around the world and across the across the country with venerable touring acts such as The Moody Blues as well as holding principal tubist positions at the Paducah Symphony & Jackson Symphonies. Tim marched and performed with the world class Star of Indiana Drum & Bugle Corps. Currently active as an adjudicator with the Appalachian Adjudicators Association, Tim adjudicates across the region. Tim has worked with several groups across the country and is currently on the brass team at 12-time finalist Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps. Tim lives in Louisville with his wife Robin and daughter Elizabeth.
Jeff Meade – Lexington, KY (Percussion)
Jeff Meade has been performing in the Lexington club scene for many years. He is a graduate of the Fayette County Schools having marched for Tates Creek in the 1980s. Jeff also marched with the University of Kentucky Drumline. In addition to ongoing studio work, Jeff currently performs with "The Ping Brothers" and has been a member of "Shade". Jeff is Vice President of Sales for Meade Concrete Products.
Lindsay Bellamy – Lexington, KY (Cologuard)
Lindsay Bellamy is a graduate of Bryan Station High School and the University of Kentucky. She has been active in the visual and colorguard arts since the early 90s. Lindsay has performed with indoor and outdoor colorgaurds. She has most recently been the colorguard designer for Bryan Station.
